Prides Farm
About Us

For over half a century the Pride family have taken great care to farm their land conventionally in the traditional way. Set amongst the lush heath land of the Surrey countryside, Woolfords Farm possesses idyllic conditions for the production of superior quality meat.

All the animals are well looked after, cared for and allowed to roam freely on the farm. They are fed on nutritious home-grown feed without the use of growth promoters or additives - just pure, natural food.

Pride’s Farm Shop, situated on Woolfords Farm is a family business run by the farm’s owners, father and son Derrick and Roger Pride. Their aim is to sell meat of the very highest quality. Meat that tastes as it should - wholesome and delicious with a superb flavour.

History

In 1967 Derrick Pride set about establishing a farming enterprise at Woolfords Farm, Elstead in Surrey. He purchased his first calves that year, and from then on the farm has grown to carry around 70 head of cattle.

Our animals, whilst our farm is not organic, no additives in any way are used. This suits the type of cattle we have, which are all traditional British breeds. From Aberdeen Angus to Hereford, they are allowed to mature slowly on a diet of grass in summer, and hay or silage in winter. We believe in a feeding regime that allows cattle to progressively grow naturally, often to an age greater than that of "mass produced beef", which results in succulent meat which is hard to beat.

In the summer, all the animals are kept on grass pasture. During the winter months, young and finishing cattle are brought inside and fed on a mixture of silage and cereals. The beef that we supply is hung for a minimum of 21 days so that the meat is well matured and  tender.

Our lamb and free range pigs are sourced from local farms, and is of the highest quality and consistency. With a wide selection of produce always available, Pride's Farm Shop is a genuine one stop shop for all your fresh meat requirements.
